Anesthesia Technology

Course Details

Recent advances in critical care medicine have enabled major surgeries to be performed on very sick patients. These surgeries require skilled anesthesia and postoperative care. It has now been recognized that anesthesiologists require trained help to handle these procedures. In recognition of this, the Indian Society of Anesthetists plans to implement “minimum standards for patient care,” which makes it mandatory for an anesthetist to have a skilled assistant for at least the start and end of every anesthetic procedure. These skilled assistants need to be trained. This course covers basic Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, especially concerning airway management and relevant medication. An introduction to sterile techniques. management of emergencies including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and understanding of the equipment used in the operation room will be an essential part of the course.
